Description
Eastern Libyan tribes called upon their youth to abandon armed militias and disown those who fight or kill anyone.
The tribe leaders meeting was covered by Al Jazeera channel where the leaders pledged to disown anyone who gets hurt fighting unless they belong to the police or the army. A sheikh repeated: "If you son gets killed doing anything without being a member of the army or the police don't come to me and don't expect me to come to you!"
They urged that people ask their sons to immediately abandon militias. They ended their meeting by reciting the first verse of the Qur'an (to affirm their pledge).
